I’m Prabin Kharel. I live in Australia, where I design the future.
From debugging code in the bustling streets of Kathmandu to crafting digital solutions for Australian farmers – my journey as a developer has been anything but ordinary.
It all started with a simple fascination: how can a few lines of code transform an entire business? During my Computer Engineering studies at IOE WRC, Tribhuvan University, I discovered that technology isn't just about algorithms and syntax – it's about solving real human problems. This spark ignited something deeper, leading me to Javra Software, where I spent 1.5 years wrestling with Progress OpenEdge and learning that great software is built through persistence, curiosity, and a healthy dose of coffee.
But here's the thing – every solved problem only made me hungrier for the next challenge. I wasn't satisfied with just knowing one corner of the tech world. I craved a new chapter, a fresh adventure that would challenge everything I thought I knew about technology, so I made a bold move: packed my bags and flew 7,000 kilometers to Australia to pursue my Master's in Information Technology at Charles Sturt University.
The transition wasn't just geographical – it was like stepping into an entirely new world. As I navigated this unfamiliar territory of modern development, I discovered landscapes I never knew existed. Laravel became my backend playground, React my creative canvas, and DevOps my bridge between brilliant ideas and real-world impact. What I thought would be a simple skill upgrade turned into a complete reimagining of what technology could do.
And then came the moment that changed everything. Today, at DIT AgTech, I'm living my dream: building technology that feeds the world. Every day, I work on solutions that help farmers make smarter decisions, optimize their operations, and grow better crops. There's something deeply satisfying about knowing that the code I write today might help put food on someone's table tomorrow.
But you know what really drives me? It's not just the technical challenge – it's the human story behind every feature, every bug fix, every deployment. I've learned that the best developers aren't just skilled coders; they're storytellers who happen to speak in JavaScript and PHP.
So here's my question for you: Ready to create something extraordinary together? Let's turn your next big idea into reality.
